S&P 500 stocks with bull flags · 2026-09-11

A sharp upward impulse (the pole) followed by a brief, shallow drift lower or sideways (the flag). The tight pullback suggests sellers cannot retrace much of the advance; a close above the pole high is the classic continuation trigger.

How detection works

Pole of at least 4.5 ATR gained within 15 bars, then a 3–15 bar flag that retraces no more than 40% of the pole and stays within half its height. Confirmed by a close above the pole high within the last 7 sessions.

“Confirmed” means the break level was closed through within the last few sessions; “forming” means the structure is in place but the level has not been taken out. A chart qualifying for both directions of the same pattern class is treated as chop and excluded.

Trade the chart, not the headline
